Membership Classes

Use this sub module to capture different Membership Classes that may exist in the Company


To access this sub module click on: Registry Management =>> Navigate =>> Setup =>> Membership Classes

The following window will open up : 

 All the available classes in the system are displayed on the screen.


 Creating a membership class:

Click on the add button to open the following screen :

On the above screen :       

Define an appropriate Name, Member # Prefix, Initial Member Number, Member Number Padding, KYC Score Threshold, Choose the Customer Type from the drop down list, Define the appropriate Retirement Age, Look up the Principal Investment Product, Select Initial statement Date.

Under the Details area in the Membership classes, there are 6 tabs Namely; 

Mandatory Charges, Investment Products, Savings Products, Alternate channels and Flags

 By default the Mandatory Charges tab is normally open.

Under the Mandatory Charges tab select Mandatory charges that a member must have for the associated Membership Class, if none then leave the   charges unchecked and proceed to the next tab.

 Under the Investment Products tab, Select mandatory investment product a member must have for the associated membership class. If none leave the    products unchecked.

Under the Savings Products tab, Select mandatory savings product a member must have for the associated membership class

Under the Alternate channels tab, Using the search feature, pick a Savings product that will be associated with the membership class being created,  proceed and chose the Alternate channel type in the drop down list, proceed and define the validity period (in days) of that particular channel you are   creating for that membership class, finally proceed to define a daily limit. 

Once you are done,  click on add to populate a record of the alternate channel you just created as below

Under the Flags tab,  the following screen is displayed.

Bypass Iprs KYC Validations? Check this to bypass government validations on intellectual property

Fetch Statement Journal Entries? Check this to list Journal Entries statement.

Close savings accounts on membership termination notification?

Bypass Mpesa KYC Validations?  Check this to bypass Know Your Customer Validation procedures on Mpesa transactions 

Enforce membership text alerts? check  this to enforce membership text alerts

Exclude Cleared Loans from Accounts Listings? Check to exclude Loans.

override member number formatting? check this to override member number formatting

Enforce Retirement Age? check this to enforce retirement Age 

Charge for Printing? check this for class members to get charged for printing 

Require product selection? check  to enforce require product selection

Recover SMS tarrifs from principal savings product? check to recover SMS tarrifs from principal savings product

Tally statement entries? check this to calculate total debit and credit statement 

Evaluate membership status for interest capitalization? Check to evaluate membership status for interest capitalization

validate biometric specimen? check to validate biometric specimen

Is Locked? check this to render class non operational

Use the flags shown  

To enforce automatic lock of this channel once a members account under the membership being created is      terminated

To enforce automatic activation of this channel once a member's account is created under the membership      being created

To effect charges on the alternate channel check the flag below

To delete/remove an alternate channel, right click on the said record to select it, then click remove to discard the record.

Removal of Alternate Channel

 You can add as many alternate channels as the system can provide but complying to the policy of the company. 

On successful completion you will get a pop up message confirming that the operation was successful.

Editing a Membership Class:

Identify the zone to be edited :

 Right click on the entry to see the edit button as shown below:

Select The Member Class To Be Edited

View icon click to view the entry detail and view audit log to view the audit log of the entry

Click on the edit icon against the membership class in the list to open the following window:

Edit The Member Class Fields

Make the necessary changes to the various fields and click update to commit changes into the system

On successful completion you will get a pop up message confirming that the operation was successful.
