Salary Heads
Salary heads are components that constitute Pay Structures.
A salary head could be an earning, which is paid to an employee, or a deduction, which is recovered from an employee's salary.
The value of these Pay Heads could either be fixed or variable, for each Payroll period.

To access this module click on: Human Resource Module ->Navigate ->Operations ->Salary ->Salary Heads
The following screen opens up :

All available salary heads are displayed.
Creating A Salary Head :
Click on the create button, the following screen will open up :

On the above screen :
Type - Select the salary head type from the drop down menu :

Product - Link the salary head to a product from the Product Lookup dialog box :

NOTE: The product to be selected is informed by the salary head type selected.
Basic pay, NHIF,NSSF,PAYE, Provident Fund deductions & Other earning are tied to savings product.
Investment & Loan Deductions are tied to Investment & Loan products respectively.

Name - Provide an appropriate salary head name.
G/L Account - Link the Salary Head to its representation in the GL chart of accounts by clicking on the G/L Account look up icon to open the following G/L Account Look Up dialog box.
Select the correct G/L Account to be linked to the salary head:

Click create to commit the salary head to the system.

On successful completion you will get a pop up message confirming that the operation was successful.

Refresh to view the newly created salary head.
Editing A Salary Head :
Identify the salary head to be edited.
Click on the edit icon

against the salary head to open the following screen :

Make the necessary changes to the entries to be affected.
Update the changes into the system.

On successful completion you will get a pop up message confirming that the operation was successful.
